Lucknow Cantonment assembly constituency has Brijesh Pathak of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) taking on Dilpreet Singh of the Indian National Congress (INC), Raju Gandhi of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Anil Pandey of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Ajay Kumar of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) this year in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.
Suresh Chandra Tiwari had won the Lucknow Cantt. seat in 2019. Tiwari had beaten his closest rival Major Ashish Chaturvedi by over 35,428 votes. Chaturvedi had contested that election on a SP ticket.
In 2017, the seat was won by Dr. Reeta Joshi of the BJP.
Lucknow Cantonment falls under the Hardoi district and the Lucknow Lok Sabha constituency, which is made up of five assembly seats.

Rajnath Singh of the BJP represented Lucknow as a member of Parliament in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Singh defeated Poonam Shatrughan Sinha from the SP with a margin of 3,47,302 votes.
The Lucknow Cantt. assembly constituency will vote in the fourth phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections on February 23, 2022, along with 59 other constituencies in nine districts. Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven rounds, with the last round on March 3.
Results will be declared on March 10, along with those for elections in four other states, including neighbouring Uttarakhand.
