A 17-year-old girl was pushed to death from the fourth storey of a building by her boyfriend in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow under the Dubagga police station limits on Tuesday night. The girl has been identified as Nidhi Gupta.
After falling off the building, Gupta was taken to King George’s Medical University trauma centre where she succumbed to her injuries.
“A girl died after falling from the fourth floor after encountering a fight with a person living in the same colony. We have taken the family’s statement on the matter, and the investigation is underway,” said Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Police West Lucknow.

Nidhi Gupta and Mohammad Sufiyan were in a romantic relationship. They lived in the same neighbourhood. Gupta’s family members say Sufiyan was forcing their daughter to marry him and convert to Islam. The Gupta family has claimed Sufiyan was intent on committing Love Jihad.
Nidhi Gupta’s mother told Zee News that Sufiyan and his family had blackmailed her for filing a police complaint against them. She said Sufiyan tortured her daughter for the last 15 days and was trying to force her into marrying him.
The incident comes right after a grisly murder mystery was solved in Delhi recently. A 26-year-old woman was strangled to death by her 28-year-old live-in partner and then cut her body into 32 pieces and disposed them off in several parts of Delhi to avoid detection.
