The dates and times for the IPL super auction have also been announced. The auction for the 15th season of the IPL (IPL 2022 Mega auction) will take place in Bangalore on February 12-13. On both days, the TATA IPL mega auction will commence at 11 am IST. The Indian Premier League’s official Twitter handle verified this.

This time, instead of the usual eight teams, ten will compete in the contest. Two new franchises, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, have been introduced in the mix. Both of these teams have confirmed their three draft selections in advance of the auction.

While Lucknow went with KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi, Ahmedabad went with Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill. Rahul and Pandya will oversee the franchises in Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, respectively.

Rahul would be paid a massive Rs 17 crore and Pandya will be paid Rs 15 crore. This year’s IPL auction has a total of 590 players on the shortlist. There are 355 uncapped cricketers and 228 capped cricketers among them.

The BCCI’s president, Sourav Ganguly, indicated that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will most certainly be held in India “until and until COVID-19 hits the roof.” With the IPL 2022 super auction less than a week away, Ganguly’s comments are guaranteed to delight Indian cricket fans who have been denied a full IPL season for the past two years.

The IPL 2020 tournament was held in the UAE, although the previous year’s edition began in India but was cut short due to a COVID-19 outbreak and was held in the UAE a few months later. The former India captain also claimed that the league portion of the IPL’s 15th season will take place in Mumbai and Pune. Ganguly, on the other hand, has not said whether or not the general public would be admitted into the stadiums.
