As part of its
phased restart mission ‘Begin Again’, the Maharashtra government on Wednesday
announced its decision to allow Metro trains to commence operations from October
15.

Taking to Twitter, Mumbai Metro said they have “initiated safety inspections and trial runs, and a re set to restart passenger operations from Monday October 19, 8:30 am.” 

All state-run
and private libraries will also be allowed to reopen from Thursday with strict
compliance of COVID-19 protocols, according to the government’s guidelines, reported PTI.

Business-to-business
exhibitions and local weekly bazars, including that of animals, have also been
allowed to be held outside containment zones from Thursday.

Markets and
shops will also be allowed to stay open for two additional hours, until 9 pm.

The
government has also decided to discontinue the practice of marking domestic passengers
arriving from different airports with indelible ink after COVID-19 testing.

Health
check-ups and stamping of passengers at railway stations will also be discontinued.
