Telugu actor Mahesh Babu paid a heartfelt tribute to his elder brother Ghattamaneni Ramesh Babu, who passed away on Saturday due to liver-related ailments.

The 46-year-old shared a picture of the late actor and wrote, “You have been my inspiration, you have been my strength, you have been my courage, you have been my everything. If not for you, I would not have been half the man I am today. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me. Now just rest…rest…In this life and if at all I have another, you’ll always be my ‘Annaya’. Love you forever and ever and ever.”

Veteran actor-producer Ramesh Babu passed away at the age of 56 due to health complications, according to family sources. 

He was taken to a private hospital after his condition deteriorated on Saturday night. According to hospital sources, he was brought dead, a report in The Hindustan Times said.

Actor Namrata Shirodkar and Mahesh Babu’s wife, also mourned the death of her brother in law. “Gone from our sight but never from our hearts. Annaya was the true pillar of our family. The life lessons he embodied…will always stay with us. We love you Annaya. Rest in eternal peace,” she shared with a photo.

Ramesh Babu was the son of superstar Ghantamneni Krishna, and made his debut as a child artist in his movies. He later appeared in films such as Samrat, Bazaar Rowdy, Anna Chellelu, Encounter, among others.

Members from the industry mourned his loss soon after the news of his passing was shared. “Deepest condolences to krishna garu @urstrulyMahesh and family… May God give you strength in these dark times,” veteran actor Nagarjuna tweeted.

Megastar Chiranjeevi also wrote, “Shocked and deeply saddened by the demise of Shri.G.Ramesh babu. My heartfelt condolences to Shri.Krishna garu, @urstrulyMahesh and all the family members. May the Almighty give strength to the family to cope with the tragic loss.”
