Vikram Agnihotri
is India’s first double amputee to get a driving license. He kept on trying to get his
permanent license, and finally, his endeavour was successful and he got his
license on September 30, 2016.
Vikram is no less
than a superhuman and so is his care being different from others. Being a
double arm amputee doesn’t leave Vikram away from his dream of driving, with
the help of technology and devotion he made it possible.
At the age of 7,
he went through the worst moment of his life he could have ever imagined, he
lost both his hands in electrocution. Still, his disability couldn’t stop him
from achieving his dream of driving a car.
Over a while,
Vikram mastered his skills and now he is a swimmer, football player,
motivational speaker, and last but not least he is a car racer. Even though the
specially-abled had to wait and fight consistently for 15 months straight, and had
his applications rejected, he was determined to get his license anyhow. Later,
his determination paid off.
In an Interview,
Agnihotri was seen praising his parents, he praised his parents, specifically
his mother, for ensuring his son lived a normal life like any other kid. “My
Parents never broke down in front of me and made me do all those things that
any other person could do,” he said. Instead of sending him to a special school,
his parents sent him to a regular school.
In his early days,
someone from his knowledge urged him that it is possible to use his legs for
daily activities, Although he got irritated but eventually managed to do so
after pushing himself to be self-dependent. Back in 2014, with an aim to help
others through motivational talks, Agnihotri launched an NGO named Vital Spark
Welfare Society.
After all the
hardships, Vikram Agnihotri is now known as a car racer and has many awards
named after him including National Excellence Awards 2017, National Gaurav
Award 2017, Dr Batra ‘s People’s Award 2018, and Malwa Ratna Award 2019, to
name a few
