The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 started on Sunday, October 18. A total of 16 countries are participating in the event, which is being played in two phases.

In the first phase, eight teams in two groups contested for a place in the second phase, the Super 12 round. Two teams from Group A – Sri Lanka and Namibia – and B – Scotland and Bangladesh – entered Groups 1 and 2 in the Super 12 round.

The Super 12 groups have Australia, England, South Africa, and the West Indies in the first group, while Afghanistan, India, New Zealand, and Pakistan have been included in the second group.

Sri Lanka and Namibia progressed to the Super 12 round from Group A and were joined by Scotland and Bangladesh from Group B.

The Super 12 round started on Saturday, October 23, with Australia defeating South Africa by 5 wickets. In the second match, West Indies lost to England by 6 wickets.

On Sunday, October 24, Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 5 wickets.

In the second match, Pakistan outclassed India by winning the match by 10 wickets. Pakistan registered their first ever victory against India in a World Cup match.
