Former Indian cricket team captain, MS Dhoni is celebrating his 41st birthday. Other than being a cricket legend, the man is a star off-field as well. The Indian cricketer is also a smart businessman. Here’s a look at some of his ventures.

1. Garuda Aerospace

The captain of Chennai Super Kings has also invested in a Chennai-based drone startup Garuda Aerospace Pvt Ltd. He also happens to be the brand ambassador of the company which owns 400 drones and 500 pilots. Dhoni said, “I’m happy to be a part of Garuda Aerospace and look forward to witnessing their growth story with the unique drone solutions they have so far”, in the startup’s statement.

2. Chennaiyin Football Club

He is the owner of the Chennaiyin Football Club based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Abhishek Bachan and Vita Dhani are also his partners in the venture. MS Dhoni became a joint co-owner of the club on October 6, 2014.

3. Seven- the lifestyle brand

Seven is a lifestyle brand company by MS Dhoni that specialized in casual clothing, sportswear and footwear. He also happens to be the brand ambassador of Seven. Seven was launched on February 9, 2016. The products of the brand are manufactured in China, India and Vietnam. The brand name coincides with Doni’s T20 shirt number.

4. SportsFit

Dhoni progressed into the commercial and sports fitness world in 2012. Based on a report in 2012, the cricketer has decided to open 200 gyms across India under SportsFit World Pvt Ltd. the company’s official website says, “SportsFit is a cultural, religious base for passionate people living a sedentary lifestyle”. 

5. Entertainment 

The cricketing superstar is likely to take up a new venture of film production under “Dhoni Entertainment”. The maiden venture will reportedly feature Tamil superstar Vijaya and Nayanthara. According to the reports, Dhoni might appear alongside the two superstars. 

6. Supersport World Championship

The cricketer owns a collection of bikes and started Mahi Racing Team India in 2012. The team entered the 2021 season as MSD R-N Team India with two Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R wildcard riders Florian Marino and Dan Linfoot. Along with MS Dhoni, the company is acquired by a Telugu actor, Akkineni Nagarjuna.

7. Ranchi Rays

Dhoni granted his support to Indian hockey by creating the Ranchi franchise of the Hockey India League. He brought the team and unveiled the logo at a gala event. Ranchi Rays replaced Ranchi Rhinos. Harendra Singh, the former international player is presently coaching the team.
