Muradnagar assembly constituency has BJP’s Ajit Pal Tyagi, taking on Surendra Kumar Munni of the the RLD, which has an alliance with the Samajwadi Party, Vijendra Yadav of the Congress candidate and Ayyuv Khan of the BSP this year in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections 2022.
Ajit Pal Tyagi had won the Muradnagar seat in 2017, when the party swept Uttar Pradesh winning 312 of the UP’s 403 assembly seats. Tyagi had defeated his rival by a margin of 89612 votes over his nearest rival, Sudhan Kumar of the BSP.

In 2012, the seat was won by Wahab Chaudhary of the BSP.
The Muradnagar assembly constituency will vote in the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections on February 10, 2022, along with 57 other constituencies in 11 districts. Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven rounds, with the last round on March 3.
Muradnagar is one of the assembly constituencies in the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha Constituency. Muradnagar became a new constituency in 2008 as a result of delimitation.

Results will be declared on March 10, along with those for elections in four other states, including neighbouring Uttarakhand.
