President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the National Sports and Adventure Award 2020 on the occasion of National Sports Day on Saturday. The event was conducted virtually for the first time. As many as 65 awardees attended the function from Sports Authority of India (SAI) centres across the country.

Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, President of Indian Olympic Association Narendra Dhruv Batra and several other dignitaries attended the ceremony from Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

Cricketers Rohit Sharma, who has been awarded Khel Ratna, and Ishant Sharma, who has got Arjuna Award, missed the event as both the players are in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the Indian Premier League (IPL).
