Naugawan Sadat assembly constituency has Devendra Nagpal of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) taking on Samarpal Singh of the Samajwadi Party (SP), and Sadaab Khan Alias Tata of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) this year in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Sangeeta Chauhan was elected for the Naugawan Sadat seat in 2020, when her husband, Chetan Chauhan – the sitting MLA- died of multiple organ failure after contracting COVID. Chauhan had beaten her closest rival Javed Abbas by a margin of 15,077 votes. Javed Abbas had contested that election on an SP ticket.
