A newlywed doctor couple in their 20s was found dead on Thursday in the bathroom of their Hyderabad residence.

Their demise is thought to have been brought on by an electric shock, which may have been brought on by a defective wiring connection to a bathroom geyser. The residence is in Khaderbagh’s neighbourhood.

“When we went into the house, we turned off the power, suspecting something had gone wrong, and then entered through a window and found the couple dead,” said Umme Mohimeen Saima’s father.

The couple,  Umme Mohimeen Saima was 22 years old and her husband Syed Nisaruddin was 26 years old.

“This could have happened as recently as yesterday morning. But no one checked until late in the evening. We went in at 11:30 p.m., after being informed, and found them dead. It appears that the husband attempted to save his wife, but both died, “Sub-inspector S Shruthi, the investigating officer, stated.

According to police, Saima was in her final year of medical school, while her husband, Nisaruddin, worked at a Government Medical College in Suryapet. Saima called her father on Thursday morning and promised to call back later. The phone call never came.

The father assumed they had both gone to work. When calls went unanswered later that evening, the family broke into the apartment to check.

“Nisaruddin appears to have gone in to save his wife, who appears to have received an electric shock. He was shocked as well,” stated the father The bodies were taken to Osmania General Hospital for examination.

The couple was a member of the Student’s Islamic Organization (SIO) and the Girls Islamic Organization (GIO). The police have opened a case and are conducting an investigation, as per Siasat Daily.

The student branch of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind is known as the Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIOI). It started out in 1982. Its goals are to present Da’wah to students and young and to advance virtues and moral values in educational institutions, per its constitution.

It has been referred to as a moderate Muslim student union that engages in charitable and humanitarian work. In order to involve Muslim teenagers in peaceful religious activities and prevent communal action and feeling, it is reportedly necessary to plan events for them. In a UNESCO global survey study, it was identified as one of the best instances of youth interfaith discussion programmes.
