COVID-19 has paralysed travelling across the country. ‘Passengers
must take care of their belongings’ is no longer the most important norm people
need to be wary of while travelling from Indian Railways; keeping themselves sanitised and maintaining social distance is now more necessary.

If you are travelling from
train and want to avoid exposure to the deadly virus as you wait for the train
on the platform, Facebook-owned messaging application WhatsApp brings a
solution for you.

You can now keep track of the running status of the train via
the messaging app. WhatsApp will keep you updated on the live train status, PNR
status, previous railway station, upcoming station and more.

Passengers no longer need to engage in the cumbersome process of
dialling 139 for live train running status.

Multiple services like Railofy, a Mumbai-based start-up and
an online travel major, MakeMyTrip have developed chatbots, which allow you to
check the train running status on your phone.

Here’s how you can check the live train running status on
WhatsApp by Railofy

Step 1: Save Railofy’s
train enquiry number (+91-9881193322) on your smartphone. Open WhatsApp and
open the chat window of Railofy’s train enquiry number.

Step 2: Text your
10-digit PNR number. After that, Railofy will automatically start keeping track
of the train.

Step 3: It
will now keep on sending you updates of the real-time status of the train in
multiple texts on WhatsApp.
