Partho Dasgupta, the former CEO of BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) who was accused of playing a vital role in the alleged Television Ratings Point (TRP) scam, was hospitalised on Saturday after his blood sugar levels shot up, PTI reported.

Dasgupta, who was being held at the Taloja Central Prison in Navi Mumbai, was rushed to state-run JJ hospital in the early hours of Saturday.

Dasgupta, a diabetic, was admitted to the ICU and is on Oxygen support, PTI reported, quoting an official.

He was taken into custody by the crime branch of the Mumbai Police on December 24 last year.

Earlier this month, his bail plea was rejected by a Mumbai court.
