The United States space agency, NASA, on Friday posted stunning photos of Morocco on their official Instagram profile and within hours gathered more than 400,000 likes.
The caption shared with the image from the northwest corner of Africa, says that the photo depicts the Anti-Atlas Mountains in the southwest of Morocco and describes why the image is so colourful.

“The photo was taken in infrared light — which is invisible to the naked eye — to highlight the different layers of rock and sediment, giving the tie-dye appearance. The layers are made up of limestone, sandstone, clay stone, and gypsum. The image was acquired on November 5, 2007, by the ASTER instrument on the Terra satellite. Terra got its name from the Latin word for ‘Earth’ and was the first satellite to form the Earth Observing System (EOS) when it launched in 1999.”
The post has already gathered 4 lakh likes in less than a day and the numbers are increasing quickly. It has also accumulated tons of comments in which people are going gaga over the image and describing its beauty.
An Instagram user wrote, “So colourful and beautiful”. Comparing the image with a work of art another individual wrote, “Picasso is that you bro?” Users also reacted to the image with heart emojis sharing their expressions.
There were several who wrote “Beautiful” while commenting.
