Addressing the nation during his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi pushed for his ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan’ (Self-Reliant India Scheme) and called for making India a global toy manufacturing hub. “During these times, I have been thinking about my young friends…I have been thinking – how can my young friends get more toys. The best toys are those that bring out creativity,” PM Modi said. India has the talent and the ability to become a toy hub, he said. PM Modi also praised teachers for adapting new technology to tackle the impact of coronavirus pandemic. “We will be celebrating Teacher’s day on September 5. During the coronavirus pandemic, our teachers have faced many challenges but they have been brave and have adapted to technological changes,” the prime minister said.
