Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday shared a video on Twitter with a sensational claim that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is being kept in detention in Uttar Pradesh, is being monitored by the government with the help of a drone camera.

The video shared by Baghel shows a drone-like craft flying around the detention centre in the violence-struck Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh where Gandhi has been in custody for more than 28 hours.

In the background of the video, someone can be heard narrating the part of the story. The person says, “This is where Priyanka Ji is being kept for custody and the government is using drone cameras to monitor her, while she is in detention.

The person then pans the camera towards the quarter where Gandhi is being kept and says,” This is where Priyanka is being detained and here is the drone camera to monitor here. This is the reality of this scared government.”

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel shared the video on his Twitter account and wrote, “What is this drone doing outside the detention centre where Priyanka Gandhi’s is being kept for more than 30 hours, who has sent this drone? Who will answer?”

Several senior Congress leaders, including P Chidambaram, also slammed BJP for the way Priyanka Gandhi’s detention has been handled.

Calling it illegal and utterly shameful, Chidambaram told ANI, She was arrested at 4:30 am, before sunrise by a male police officer. She is not been taken to a judicial magistrate so far yet.”

“Several provisions of the law have been violated. Law & Order seems to have a different meaning in Uttar Pradesh. Law means Adityanath’s law and order means Adityanath’s order. It’s a gross violation of her constitutional rights,” he added.

Meanwhile, first-hand information (FIR) has been filed against Priyanka Gandhi and 10 others for disturbing the peace in Uttar Pradesh.

Priyanka Gandhi was detained by UP police on Monday morning along with other party leaders including Deependra Singh Hooda on her way to violence-hit Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh to visit the families of the farmers who were killed during Sunday’s unrest.

In view of Gandhi’s arrest, Congress has called for a nationwide protest on Tuesday. Demonstrations will be held outside the offices of district magistrates in all districts of the country.
