The gathering comes ahead of the 2023 Rajasthan assembly elections. The RSS, which happens to be the ideological and philosophical wellspring of the BJP, will start discussion and procedure gatherings in the state.

A three-day enormous meeting of Prant Pracharaks or grassroots activists in Jhunjhunu will take place from July 7, Thursday. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Rajasthan on July 2 to be a part of the strategic meeting.

The meeting stands significant as the state is still witnessing tense situation after the recent horrific murder of the tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur by Mohammed Riyaz Akhtar and Mohammad Ghous.

Lal was killed for sharing a social media post in support of Indian politician and BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.

It is reported that the assailants entered Lal’s shop as customers and ended up murdering him. Social media was flooded with videos of assailants holding butcher knives and claiming responsibility for the murder.

The city imposed a curfew and blocked internet access after the videos of the incident went viral on social media.

The meeting is expected to discuss the current political scenario in Rajasthan and will be attended by RSS leader Mohan Bhagwat, General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, and some 45 demarcated province activists. It is also reported that BJP’s National Secretary BL Santosh and Shivprakash will also attend the meeting.

The RSS has divided the country into 11 regions, which are in turn divided into 45 provinces to serve their organisational needs. Under the supervision of RSS leader Indresh Kumar, the organisation’s Muslim Rashtriya Manch has been organising condolence rallies for Kanhaiya Lal.

The march is in connection with other Muslim organisations to help prevail peace and friendship between the two religious sects of the society. It is also planning to launch a campaign against religious and spiritual extremism.

The upcoming assembly can also talk about plans for the centenary celebrations of RSS since the year 2025 will mark 100 years of the establishment of the conservative association.
