Ravichandran Ashwin will return to the white-ball squad after a long break from the format.
Ashwin might have been a regular in the IPL, but he hasn’t played a T20I for India since mid-2017.
The Indian off-spinner has been named in the 15-member team India squad for the 2021 T20 World Cup.

A modern day giant among Indian spinners, R Ashwin has 413 wickets to his name and has played 79 matches.
His T20I stats aren’t anything short of impressive either with 52 wickets in 46 matches at an average of almost 23 and economy rate just short of 7.
The spinner’s performance in the IPL has been up to the mark, enabling him to play a key role previously at the Punjab Kings and now with the Delhi Capitals.
Ashwin’s comeback is being met with both criticism and approval.
A certain set of experts and fans are finding it hard to wrap their head around the bowler’s inclusion in a much more high tempo cricketing format when he was dropped for the fourth Test against England just a few days ago.
However, there are others who see a lot of sense in BCCI’s decision making and are backing both the bowler and the selectors on a job well done.
Meanwhile, Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman and two- time World cup winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been announced as the mentor of India T20 World Cup squad.
