India will be celebrating its 73rd Republic Day on Wednesday, January 26. The traditional parade is all set to start at 10:20 am and will move from Vijay Chowk and proceed to the Red Fort grounds. Elaborate traffic management and restrictions have been put in place for smooth conduct of the parade along the route.

Route of the parade:

Vijay Chowk – Rajpath – Amar Jawan Jyoti – India Gate- R/A Princess Palace – T/L Tilak Marg- Turn right on “C” Hexagon – Turn left – Enter National Stadium from Gate No. 1

Tableaux route:

Vijay Chowk – Rajpath – Amar Jawan Jyoti – India Gate – R/A Princess Palace – T/L Tilak Marg – Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg – Netaji Subhash Marg – Red Fort

Road users are requested to plan their journey in advance, according to the restrictions below to avoid the route of parade for their own convenience. 

Movement of traffic on certain roads leading to route of the parade will be restricted as under:

No traffic will be allowed on Rajpath from Vijay Chowk to India Gate from 6pm on January 25 till the parade gets over.

No cross-traffic will be allowed on Rajpath from 11pm on January 25 on Rafi Marg, Janpath and  Man Singh Road till the parade is over.

‘C’ Hexagon – India Gate will be closed for traffic from 2am on January 26 till the parade crosses Tilak Marg.

From 4am on January 26, traffic on Tilak Marg, BSZ Marg and Subhash Marg will not be allowed in both directions. Cross-traffic will only be allowed depending upon movement of the parade.

North-South Corridor: 

Ring Road-Ashram Chowk-Sarai Kale Khan-I.P Flyover-Rajghat-Ring Road. From Madarsa-Lodhi Road  point-Aurobindo Marg-AIIMS Chowk-Ring Road-Dhaula Kuan-VandeMatram Marg-Shankar Road-Park Street or Mandir Marg

East West Corridor

Ring Road, Bhairon Road-Mathura Road, Subramaniam Bharti Marg-Rajesh Pilot Marg-Prithvi Raj Road-Safdarjung Road-Kamal Ataturk Marg-Panchsheel Marg-Simon Bolivar Marg- Upper Ridge Road/ Vande Matram Marg OR Ring road- ISBT-Chandgi Ram Akhara-Mall Road-Azad Pur-Ring Road

As for Metro stations, the restrictions are from 5am till 12 noon in Kendriya Sachivalaya and Udyog Bhawan metro stations and from 8:45 am to 12 noon in Lok Kalyan Marg (Race Course) and Patel Chowk metro stations. Metro serivices, largely, other than these station remains uninterrupted.

Heavy Transport Vehicles or Large Goods Vehicles (HTV/LGV):

No HTV/LGV will be allowed to enter Delhi borders from 10PM on January 25 till the [arade is over.

No HTV/LGV will be allowed to ply between I.S.B.T.Sarai Kale Khan and I.S.B.T.Kashmiri Gate on Ring Road from 7.30am to 1.30pm on January 25, 2022.

For TSR/TAXIS:

No TSR and Taxis will be allowed to enter or ply after 7am on January 26 in the areas bound by:

Mother Teresa Crescent-Baba Kharak Singh Marg-Ashoka Road Upto R/A Patel Chowk Sansad Marg upto Tolstoy Marg- Tolstoy Marg upto Kasturba Gandhi Marg-Kasturba Gandhi Marg upto Ferozeshah Road- Ferozeshah Road upto R/A Mandi House Bhagwan Dass Road Mathura Road- Subramaniam Bharti Marg-Humayun Road-A.P.J Abdul Kalam MARG-Kamal Ataturk Marg-Kautilya Marg and Sardar Patel Road (Excluding)

Instructions to general public:

General public is expected to follow these rules and make arrangements as needed. In case any unidentified object or suspicious person is found, information must be conveyed to the nearest policeman on duty. Apart from this, flying sub conventional aerial platforms like para gliders, para motors, hang gliders, UAVS, UASS, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons are prohibited over jurisdiction of National Capital Territory of Delhi from January 20, 2022, to February 15, 2022.
