Lata Mangeshkar, the Nightingale of India, died on Sunday. Her fans and Bollywood stars paid their tributes to India’s queen of melody.

Anushka Sharma shared a black and white picture of the legendary singer on her Twitter handle. She wrote, “God speaks through beautiful voices.” The actor added that it was a sad day for India and that the singer will live in our hearts forever through her music. The ‘Sultan’ fame conveyed her deepest condolences to the singer’s friends, family and fans.
Deepika Padukone shared a similar picture on Instagram and captioned it “1929- (infinity sign)”, hinting that the late singer will remain immortal in our hearts.
Priyanka Chopra shared a picture of the veteran singer on her Instagram stories and wrote that the music will never stop.
Actor Parineeti Chopra also remembered how her music lessons had been about the late singer. She wrote, “I learnt Hindustani classical music, but was given leeway to do riyaaz on her songs. Students were tested on whether we could sing with even 1/10th her skill. She is India’s legacy. Thank you Lata ji, for inspiring singers, audiences and music itself!”.
Alia Bhatt shared a photo of a young Lata Mangeshkar on her instagram and captioned it ‘Immortal’.
Kareena Kapoor also shared a picture of the Bharat Ratna recipient and wrote, “Rest in glory.” Malaika Arora shared a similar post about the late singer on her Instagram handle.

Neetu Kapoor shared a rare picture of the singer holding baby Rishi Kapoor in her arms on her instagram story. She captioned it, ‘Heartbroken, lil Rishi in her arms.’
Lata Mangeshkar died at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital due to multiple organ failure. She was admitted at the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms as well as being diagnosed with pneumonia.
