Congress leader Rahul
Gandhi took a jibe at the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for misusing
public money when the nation was struck by the COVID-19 pandemic while speaking
at the Sivasagar rally ahead of the Assam Legislative Assembly elections to be
held in April 2021, ANI reported.
“PM Narendra Modi
looted public money during COVID-19 pandemic and waived loans of his two
friends,” Gandhi said.
Gandhi reiterated his “Hum
do humare do” statement where he said that the nation is run by four people.
“Hum do, humare do,
Assam ke liye aur do, aur sab kuch loot lo,” he said.
Gandhi also spoke about
the Citizenship Amendment Act. He, along with other Congress leaders, was seen
wearing ‘No CAA’ gamchas.
“Whatever be
circumstance, we will never implement CAA if voted to power,” Gandhi at Assam
rally.
Showing no sign of
deviating from the Assam Accord, he said, “No power in the world can break
Assam. Whoever will try to touch the Assam Accord or spread hatred, Congress
party & people of Assam will teach them a lesson together.”
Gandhi accused
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for trying
to divide Assam.
“BJP, RSS trying to
divide Assam; Narendra Modi, Amit Shah won’t be affected by it but Assam and rest
of India will be affected,” he said.
Gandhi also stated that
Assam Chief Minister would listen only to Nagpur and Delhi, not to the
day-to-day issues of the general public.
“Remote control can
operate TV, not CM; you need your own CM who listens to your problems but
current Assam CM only listens to Nagpur, Delhi,” Gandhi said.
