Sachin Tendulkar rolled back the years with a scintillating fifty as India Legends booked their berth in the final of the ongoing T20 Road Safety World Series with a 12-run win over West Indies Legends on Wednesday.

The ‘Little Master Blaster’ struck six boundaries and three maximums in his 42-ball 65-run knock as India amassed an imposing first innings total of 218 for the loss of three wickets after being put into bat at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur.

Yet another fifty-run partnership between Tendulkar and former opener Virender Sehwag gave India the perfect start after the latter scored a quickfire 35 from 17 deliveries, including five fours and a six, in typical style.

Mohammed Kaif pitched in with a handy contribution of 27 before Yusuf Pathan (37) and Yuvraj Singh (49) remained unbeaten to give India a strong finish.

West Indies pacer Tino Best was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with impressive figures of 2/25 from four overs, claiming the wickets of both Tendulkar and Sehwag.

Dwayne Smith top-scored for the West Indies with a 36-ball 63, including nine fours and two sixes, while Narsingh Deonarine scored an impressive 59 as the Caribbeaners looked set to reach the target at 118/2 from 10.4 overs.

However, a steady fall of wickets crippled their chase, with the only meaningful contribution coming from skipper Brian Lara, who scored a 28-ball 46.

Seamer Vinay Kumar was the pick of the Indian bowlers, finishing with figures of 2/26. Irfan Pathan, Manpreet Gony and Pragyan Ojha was also among the wickets with the West Indies chase ending at 206/6 from 20 overs.

India will play the winner between Sri Lanka and South Africa in the final on March 21.
