Sachin Tendulkar, referred to as the God of cricket, travelled between Shivaji Park, Dadar and Bandra, areas of Mumbai, every day to practice under his coach Ramakant Achrekar. The 48-year-old on Friday recalled his days as a youngster, saying BEST bus no 315 holds a special place in his heart. 

Tendulkar retired in 2013 after serving India for 24 years. He is the only cricketer to score 100 centuries and finished his career with more than 30,000 international runs.

Sachin Tendulkar hails from Mumbai. He has on several occassions spoken about his struggle and cricketing his journey. On Friday, the Mumbai Indians icon recalled his connection with bus no 315. 

In a video posted on his social media handles, Tedulkar can be seen standing next to the BEST bus number 315. The legend said that he used to travel on that route as a youngster.

“After many years I have seen the 315 number bus. It would ply between Bandra and Shivaji Park and used to travel by this bus and would be very excited about reaching Shivaji Park and start my practice. After all the practice I would get tired and hope that my favourite seat, the last seat in the bus by the window, would be empty so that I could sit there and enjoy the ride with the cool breeze from outside,” Tendulkar said in the video.

He further added that there ‘were days when I would fall asleep and miss my bus stop’. 

“But it was great fun,” he added.

Sachin Tendular, nearly a decade after retirement, still is the highest run-scorer in Test and ODI cricket. He captained India for a brief period in the 1990s. He played for the Mumbai Indians and won the IPL title in 2013. 

The batting legend is the icon for the five-time champion side.
