The Saidpur assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh (UP) saw Seema Devi of the Indian National Congress (INC) take on Subhash Passi of the BJP, Binod Kumar of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Ankit Bharti of the Samajwadi Party (SP), and Rakesh of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Subhash Passi of the SP had won the seat in 2017 Assembly elections, defeating runner-up Vidyasagar Sonkar of the BJP by a margin of 8,710 votes.

In the 2012 Assembly election, SP’s Subhash had won the seat by defeating the BSP’s America by a margin of 41,969 votes.

The Saidpur assembly constituency falls under the Ghazipur district in UP and is one of the five assembly constituencies under the Ghazipur Lok Sabha constituency.

The Saidpur assembly constituency voted in the seventh phase of the UP Assembly elections in 2022 on March 7, when 54 assembly seats, spread across 9 districts, went to the polls. UP is voting in seven phases, and the last phase was held on March 7.

Results will be declared on March 10, along with results of elections being held in other states and Union Territories (UTs).
