V K Sasikala, the expelled AIADMK leader who is currently serving a jail term in Bengaluru in a corruption case, will be released from prison on Wednesday, PTI reported, quoting her nephew T T V Dhinakaran.

The former aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa tested positive for coronavirus last week and is currently seeking treatment at Victoria Hospital. Her condition is said to be stable, however, details regarding her discharge from the facility are not known.

Meanwhile, her nephew has said that she will be released from prison on Wednesday.

“According all our expectations… Chinnamma (Sasikala) will be released (from prison) day after tomorrow, 27-01-2021,” Dhinakaran, who is the founder of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), said.
