Shushila Devi Likmabam is an Judoko player who represented India at International level in women’s 48 kg weight class. She came in a limelight when she won a Silver medal in Judo at the 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow, Scotland.

Currently, she hit the headlines as she is a part of the Indian contingent being sent for the Tokyo Olympics 2021 and will be only athlete representing India in Judo where she participated in the 48 kg event.

She was born on February 01, 1995 in Manipur, India. She started Judo from the age of just 8. Shushila got in to the Judo because of his uncle as she finds great inspiration from her uncle, LikambamDinit, who is a former international Judo player. At that time, she used to cover 30 minutes journey to reach the Judo academy and her elder brother is also trained with him.

Later, under the guidance of Sabitri Chanu she joined Sports Authority Centre (SAI) to get professional training of the sport.

In the 2010 Commonwealth Junior Championship, she made her international debut and bagged her first gold medal in the 48 kg weight class. Then, she moved to Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, Patiala, to improve her training and learn better about sports. She started her training under the guidance of Jiwan Sharma from 2010 to 2017.

In 2017, she joined the Manipur Police, she took permission from the Manipur police authorities when she started training for her upcoming judo championships and tournaments. In 2019, Shushila won a silver medal at the Asian Open in Hong Kong.

She also missed several qualifying tournaments, she was qualified for Tokyo 2020 on the basis of the continental quota, making her sole representative from India for Judo in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
