Skoda is set to unveil its new mid-size luxury car Slavia later this month. The Czech manufacturer, which unveiled Salvia in November of last year, will formally disclose the pricing of the vehicle in India on March 28. The company has also specified the dates on which the Slavia cars would be delivered to consumers.

Before the formal debut, 2022 Skoda Slavia sedans have already begun to arrive at various dealerships around the country. Skoda has already begun accepting reservations for the Slavia at a price of Rs 11,000.

The sedan will compete in the mid-size premium sedan sector against rivals like Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Hyundai Verna, which will be manufactured at the carmaker’s Chakan site in Pune, Maharashtra. When it is released, it will compete with Volkswagen’s planned sedan Virtus.

Skoda Auto India’s Brand Director, Zac Hollis, has confirmed that deliveries of the Slavia sedan would commence on March 28. The Slavia will be available with two engine options: a 1.0-litre TSi petrol engine and a 1.5-litre petrol engine. Deliveries will begin on the first day of the model’s release. The second one, with a 1.5-litre TSi petrol engine, will be on sale on March 3. In addition, the Slavia with a larger engine will be released on the same day.

The 1.0-litre engine produces 115 PS and 175 Nm of torque when connected to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The 1.5-litre engine, which will be paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission in addition to the six-speed manual, will produce 150 PS.

Skoda Slavia has a length of 4,541 mm, a width of 1,752 mm, and a height of 1,487 mm. It has the Skoda grille, which is surrounded by chrome and flanked by headlamp units with integrated LED DRLs. At the back, there are C-shaped LED tail lamps, and the trunk door opens to expose a 521-litre cabin area.

Inside, the model has a two-spoke steering wheel, a black and beige colour theme on the dashboard with piano-black accents, a 10-inch infotainment screen, circular AC vents, and a digital driver display, among other things.
