Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja‘s New Delhi home was broken
into, and cash and jewellery valued at Rs 1.41 crore were taken. Reportedly,
Sonam Kapoor’s mother-in-law was the first to notify the crime to the Tughlaq
Road police station. Given the high-profile nature of the case, senior Delhi
Police officials quickly seized control of the situation and organised
investigation squads.

According to the story, Kapoor’s father-in-law, Harish Ahuja
and mother-in-law Priya Ahuja live on Amrita Shergill Marg in Delhi with Anand
Ahuja’s grandmother, Sarla Ahuja. As per her complaint, Sarla Ahuja discovered
the crime on February 11 when she checked her cupboards for jewellery and cash.
On February 23, the complaint was filed. She told the cops she hadn’t looked at
the jewellery in over two years.

The police began investigating the theft at Sonam and
Anand’s home after receiving the report. They’re also looking through CCTV
footage from the previous year to see if there are any suspects in the case. The
38-year-old businessman was also in news last month as his father, Harish Ahuja’s
company was defrauded of Rs 27 crore, according to reports. Ten people were
detained as a result of this incident.

Kapoor and Ahuja are currently in Mumbai and are expecting
their first child. She is now staying with her father, Anil Kapoor.
