Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan was trolled after he attended Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s wedding in Mahabalipuram on June 9. Earlier on June 5, the actor had tested positive for COVID-19, confirmed by Harbhajan Singh, who tweeted: “Wishing you a speedy and safe recovery @iamsrk. Praying for your good health.” It was reported that he had mild symptoms, however, fans did not take lightly to the news that he had attended a gathering just days after testing positive for the virus.

Shah Rukh Khan had previously attended filmmaker Karan Johar’s 50th birthday party on May 25 in Mumbai, which was alleged to have become a hotspot for COVID-19. Around 55 guests were reported to have tested positive for the virus, including Khan.

Fans were disgruntled after hearing that the star had not followed the advised 14-day isolation period, and were skeptical about his rapid recovery. While some fans expressed joy regarding Khan’s speedy improvement, others were unhappy.

 One user commented on a picture of Khan posted by Pooja Dadlani Gurnani (@poojadadlani02) on Instagram, “Inlogon ko covid 2 din hi hote hein,” referring to the privilege that came with Khan’s status and fame. Another user wrote: “2 din pehle hua aur recover bhi ho gya,” expressing their doubt.

Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara were revealed to be the lead actors in Atlee Kumar’s “Jawan” the previous week, which will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada on 2 June, 2023. In a statement, Khan stated: “Jawan is a universal story that goes beyond languages, geographies and is for all to enjoy. Credit goes to Atlee for creating this unique film, which has also been a fantastic experience for me as I love action films! The teaser is the just tip of the iceberg and gives a glimpse into what’s to come.”
