Sensex rose 85.88 points or 0.14% to 61,308.91 and Nifty was up by 52.35 points or 0.29% to 18,308.10 in the previous session. Sensex touched high and low of 61,385.48 and 61,107.60, respectively and there were 19 stocks advancing against 11 stocks declining on the index while Nifty traded in a range of 18,321.55 and 18,228.75 and there were 34 stocks advancing against 16 stocks declining on the index.

UltraTech Cement announced financial results for the quarter ended December 31, 2021. The company reported a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 1,708 crore for Q3FY22, up 7.8% from Rs 1,584 crore in the year-ago period. PAT during the previous quarter was Rs 1,314 crore.
