AIADMK MLA Geetha M who defeated VK Aiyar of the PT party in 2016. The seat, one
of Tamil Nadu’s 234 assembly constituencies, falls under the Karur Lok Sabha
constituency.

The Karur Lok Sabha seat is currently held by Congress MP S
Jothimani, who defeated M Thambidurai of the AIADMK in the 2019 General
