The Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi‘s trailer was released on Tuesday on the actor’s 34th birthday. The movie is based on the life of former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa. Kangana seems to have left no stone unturned in getting into the character of the actor-turned-politician.
The trailer also portrays Jayalalithaa’s relationship with MG Ramachandran (MGR), late Tamil Nadu CM and a mass leader, played by Arvind Swami in the film. Kangana with her mind-blowing performance portrayed Thalaivi as a strong woman with a fearless attitude.

In the trailer, after MGR died, she showed that she can still win the hearts of the people and be an independent leader by doing sheer hard work. The trailer shows Kangana as Thalaivi in different phases and it will definitely send shivers down your spine.

The film is directed by AL Vijay and the star cast includes Aravind Swami, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta and Bhagyashree among others. The trailer depicts Jayalalithaa’s struggles as a politician and how men used to undermine her and question her ability to be a politician.
The trailer embraces powerful moments including Jayalalithaa challenging Indira Gandhi face-to-face in her maiden speech in the Parliament in 1984. Other such moments include Thalaivi campaigning and winning across her state.

Recently, Kangana was awarded with National Award for her portrayal of Rani Lakshmi Bai in her film Manikarnika.
