After losing in the semifinal, shuttler PV Sindhu will play for the bronze in the women’s singles event at Tokyo Olympics. India’s medal hopes will also rest on boxer Satish Kumar and the men’s hockey team. While Satish Kumar will face Uzbekistan’s B Jalolov in the quarterfinal, the men’s hockey team will go up against Great Britain.

Reigning world champion PV Sindhu will look to become the second Indian ever, and the first Indian woman, to win two individual Olympic medals. In the semifinals, Sindhu lost to World no. 1 Tai Tzu-ying (Chinese Taipei) in straight games. She will look to put that setback behind her when she takes on China’s He Bingjiao in the bronze medal playoff on Sunday.

Sindhu had won a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The only other Indian to have won two individual medals at the Olympics is wrestler Sushil Kumar.

Boxer Satish Kumar will be up against world champion Bakhodir Jalolov of Uzbekistan. If Kumar wins the match and reaches the semifinal, he will be assured of an Olympic medal.
