A 50-second video shared by the Ministry of Railways showing a train driver applying emergency brakes to save the life of a man lying on the tracks has gone viral. The incident was captured at Sewri station on the Harbour Line of the Mumbai suburban railway network.

The video clip begins with the man stepping onto the railway tracks and lying down as a train approaches. The alert train driver instantly applies emergency brakes. Soon,  three police personnel rush to save the man. From the details of the video clip, it is known the incident took place on January 2 around 11.45 a.m. 

In the tweet, the Ministry of Railways applauded the motorman and added, “Your life is precious, someone is waiting for you at home.”

The video clip has around 93,000 views, 5,700 likes, and many people are praising the driver in the comments.  While one person felt it was important to mention the name of the motorman in the video, another  applauded the police personnel and said the railways should reward the motorman for saving a life.  Few others praised the motorman as well as the police personnel.
