The latest development in Congress’ Punjab camp, owing to Sidhu’s unexpected move, has brought the state’s politics back in the limelight.

Captain Amarinder Singh, the former chief minister of Punjab, who is expected to be in Delhi on Tuesday evening, reacted to Sidhu’s resignation.

“I told you so…he is not a stable man and not fit for the border state of punjab”, Singh Tweeted.

Meanwhile, other reactions doing rounds included funny takes on the current political scenario in Punjab by a mix of journalists, general public and other Twitter users.

“Kahani mey twist. Apparently Navjot Sidhu has resigned. Punjab politics has more twists turns than the Western Ghats,” Tweeted ANI’s Smita Prakash.

“Dear @NetflixIndia, please make a web series on #PunjabPolitics so that we can understand what’s happening there,” said another user named Shubham Dutta.

“Collapse + character + compromise = what does that sentence mean?”, Tweeted journalist Mitali Mukherjee in response to Sidhu’s resignation.

Also making news while Sidhu’s resignation as party chief unfolded was current Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi who said he had “no information” about Sidhu’s resignation as party chief.

However, Channi continues to have full faith in Sidhu.

“I have full confidence & faith in (Navjot Singh) Sidhu Sahab,” said the Punjab chief minister on the latest developments in Punjab politics.

Meanwhile, former Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Kanhaiya Kumar and Gujarat Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani on Tuesday joined the Congress in the presence of leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi.
