The 30-scrip BSE Sensex surged 1.14% or 657.39 points to close at 58,465.97. Similarly, the NSE Nifty jumped 197.05 points or 1.14% to close the day at 17,463.80. The BSE midcap surged 1.23% and smallcap index was up by 0.57%. Among sectoral indices on the BSE, except Oil & Gas all other indices including auto, consumer durables, metal and bankex ended in positive territory.

Vedanta: The shares surged 2.02% to close at Rs 376.90 after the mining company said it has terminated the plan to rearrange its corporate structure. It had concluded that its current structure is optimal and it would be distributing a minimum of 30% of the profit after tax (excluding profits of Hindustan Zinc) as dividends, it informed in a BSE filing.

Adani Wilmar: The FMCG company’s shares extended listing gains from Tuesday and jumped 20% to close at Rs 321.90. The stock continued to surge after finishing the debut session at a premium of 17% over the issue price.

Coal India: The state-owned company’s shares closed 5.63%
higher at Rs 168.95. Coal India was the top gainer on the Nifty 50.

Bosch: The shares closed 1.19% higher at Rs 16,249.00 after the auto ancillary company reported a 26% rise in net profit for Q3FY22 at Rs 234.8 crore as compared to Rs 185.6 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue from operations rose 2.6% YoY to Rs 3,109 crore in Q3FY22, while EBITDA dropped 0.2% to Rs 357.4 crore and margin contracted 30 bps YoY to 11.5% for the December 2021 quarter.

Bharti Airtel: The telecom major’s shares ended 1.55% higher at Rs 719.90 after the company announced a 27% decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 829.6 crore for the December quarter. Airtel posted a 5.4% quarter-on-quarter rise in consolidated revenues at Rs 29,866 crore.

Glenmark Pharma: The shares surged 3.40% to close at Rs 501.45 after the company announced the launch of nitric oxide nasal spray (NONS) in India for Covid-19 patients.
