Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli will step out on the field against the Kolkata Knight Riders Monday night, marking his 200th game for the Indian Premier League.

Among all IPL players, current and past, Kohli has played most T20 matches for one team.

Add 15 Champions League T20 games for Kohli at the Royal Challengers Bangalore and his total appearances for the side shoots up to 214.

To put how long Kohli has been around at the IPL in perspective, the heavy hitter played the first ever IPL game when the Royal Challengers Bangalore took on the Kolkata Knight Riders.

In the 2021 season so far, Kohli has played seven matches and scored 198 runs at an average of 33 with a best score of 72 not out.

In IPL 2020, the RCB gun played 15 matches and scored 466 runs at an average of just over 42 with a best score of 90 not out.

After making his IPL debut in 2008, when he was drafted for 17 crores, the right-handed middle order batter has scored more than 6000 runs at an average of almost 38 and been not out for 31 times.

Kohli also tried his luck as a bowler but only managed four wickets across all the years he remained active in the IPL, with two wickets coming in his debut season while another two came after three years in 2011.

Being a strong hitter of the ball, Kohli so far has 524 fours and 205 sixes to his name across the 199 IPL games he has played.

Kohli’s RCB will face KKR tonight in their first match of the second leg of the 2021 IPL.

Head-to-head, the two teams have played each other 27 times, out of which KKR took 14 wins while RCB had 13.
