At least 113 people have died and over 100 missing in the flood-affected areas of Maharashtra as heavy rains continue to lash the state, causing floods and landslides. So far, 50 people have also been injured in these incidents, the government said in a statement, PTI reported. Various rivers in a number of areas in Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Sangli and several other districts of the state remain inundated.
Here are the latest updates on the Maharashtra floods:
1. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray visited Chiplun, the site of severe flooding in Ratnagiri district, on Sunday morning. He interacted with residents and promised them all help from the state government to restore normalcy in the area.

2. The Department of Military Affairs in the Defence Ministry established a ‘central war room’ for close coordination among the three wings of the armed forces for flood relief operations in Maharashtra.
“A central war room has been established at the Department of Military Affairs for close coordination between the three Services for ongoing flood relief operations in Maharashtra,” the Indian Army said on Twitter on Sunday.
3. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) said on Sunday that 73 bodies have been retrieved and 47 people are missing in landslides in the coastal regions of Maharashtra.

4. A pregnant woman and 12 children were rescued from a submerged area in Kolhapur. A dead body was also retrieved by the NDRF during the rescue operation and about 67 people have been moved to safer areas.
5. The Pune-Bengaluru national highway stretch in Kolhapur, which remained shut for two days due to flooding caused by rains, may open for heavy vehicles carrying emergency supplies as the water level has reduced owing to subdued rain.
