A fire broke out at the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) plant in Surat, Gaujarat, early on Thursday. In the video shared by ANI, massive fire could be seen with billows of smoke covering the sky.  

The fire was caused by three consecutive blasts that took place at ONGC Hazira Plant, ANI quoted Surat’s Collector Dr Dhaval Patel as saying. The blasts took place at 3.00 am. “The activity of depressurizing the pressurized gas system underway by ONGC officials,” Patel said. 

Firefighters were present at the spot and fire has been brought under control, ONGC said in a statement. No casualty or injury has been reported, it added.
