A massive fire broke out in a packaging factory in Kadodara’s Vareli in Gujarat‘s Surat on Monday morning. At least two workers were killed inside the factory due to the fire and some 125 were rescued from the site, news agency ANI reported quoting police officials.

According to ANI, rescue operations concluded this morning soon after the fire occurred. The news agency released a video of the rescue exercises. Watch here!!

The video clip shows rescue workers on the spot from where a heavy cloud of black smoke is coming out.

According to PTI, the blaze erupted in the Viva Packaging Company at around 4:30 am on Monday, Kadodara police inspector Hemant Patel said.

The fire started on the unit’s first floor and soon spread to other floors, he said.

Hydraulic cranes were used to rescue workers trapped inside the building, he said.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and a probe is underway, so far only two deaths have been reported and all others were rescued. 

Meanwhile, another fire broke out in the emergency ward of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital on Monday in a separate incident. According to ANI, fire tenders were rushed to the spot and doused the fire, no causality has been reported so far.
