Madhya
Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP’s national general
secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya joined voices to sing evergreen Hindi songs “Ye
Dosti…” and “Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna” outside the Madhya Pradesh Assembly building
in what is being dubbed at a “musical show of friendship”. Videos of the senior
leaders singing have gone viral on social media.

The musical
performance was part of what is being called a “bhutta party” — a corn-on-the
cob party.  The senior political leaders
were visibly upbeat in their performance as soundtracks of the songs blared in
the background. A woman who was part of the crowd helped the leaders with the
lyrics.

At one
point in the video, Kailash Vijayvargiya holds Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s hand and
raises it in the air. The crowd joins in chorus and cheers the singers under
spotlight.

When one
song ends, Vijayvargiya and the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister put their arms
around each other in an almost-hug.

Sharing a
video of the musical performance on Twitter, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj
Singh Chouhan tagged Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, the duo who played the
roles of Jay and Veeru in the iconic film “Sholay” which features the “Ye Dosti…”
song.

The other
song that the BJP leaders sang, “Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna” is from another iconic
Hindi film — Kudrat.

Kailash
Vijayavargiya also shared the video on Twitter adding that he and Shivraj Singh
Chouhan would often break into song during their days in the Yuva Morcha, BJP’s
youth wing. The “Bhutta party” duet helped revisit those memories,
Vijayavargiya said.
