Netflix’s Korean-drama ‘Squid Game’ has been breaking records and trend charts ever since its release. Recently, it became the streaming platform’s ‘biggest-ever lauch’ overtaking British drama Bridgerton. The love for ‘Squid Games’ is not just limited to charts and ratings, fans have not just embraced the show but are willing to make it a part of their lives.

Recently, a group of kids from Nigeria came up with their own version of some of the show’s iconic scenes. And guess what? They are winning hearts online. The version was created by well-known parody creators ‘The Ikorodu Bois’ and their representation of the ‘Squid Game’ has left fans impressed online after a series of memes, challenges and social media trends.

In the video, we can see a group of Nigerian boys, donning the same green colour tracksuit as worn by the players in the show playing the game with one man playing the deadly squid doll.
The creators have also placed the original video from the show for the viewer to draw comparisons and undoubtedly it looks like a brilliant effort from ‘The Ikorodu Bois’s team.

For the unversed, Squid Games is a popular K-Thriller series that premiered on Netflix on September 17 and became a huge success soon after the release.
The series revolved around 456 players, drawn from different walks of life, each highly in debt and looking for ways to make quick cash to pay it off, to play a Korean game ‘Squid’. While the winner is promised a handsome sum of $45 million, losers face bloodshed and even murder penalities.
The show is now the highest-rated programme in 90 countries and has grown so popular that that sales of green tracksuits, worn by the show’s protagonist have increased since its debut last month.
