Riaz Akhtari and Gos Mohammad, the accused, released another video in which they boasted about the murder and threatened to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Riaz Akhtari and Ghouse Mohammad were arrested on Tuesday, hours after they allegedly hacked a tailor to death with a cleaver at his shop for expressing support for now-suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma, and then posted videos on social media claiming they were avenging an insult to Islam.

Mohsin and Asif were also arrested on Thursday night for their roles in the conspiracy.

They were brought before the court here under tight security.

The tailor had previously told police that he had received threats as a result of a social media post shared from his account, which appeared to “support” BJP leader Nupur Sharma’s provocative remarks about Prophet Mohammad.

Thousands marched in Udaipur, and shopkeepers in Jaipur shut their doors in protest of the recent murder of a tailor by men who claimed to be avenging an insult to Islam.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot paid a visit to the tailor’s family and told reporters outside that he wanted the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to file the charge sheet in a fast-track court as soon as possible so that the perpetrators could be brought to justice.

Ashok Gehlot said, “It is a very sad incident. It is not a small incident, what has happened is beyond one’s imagination. The culprits will not be spared.”

“It’s a sad & shameful incident. There’s a tense atmosphere in the nation today. Why don’t PM & Amit Shah ji address the nation? There is tension among people. PM should address the public & say that such violence won’t be tolerated & appeal for peace,” Ashok Gehlot further said.
