India%20has%20always%20been%20proactive%20in%20terms%20of%20diagnosing%20and%20treating%20tuberculosis.%20The%20National%20Tuberculosis%20Program%20was%20launched%20by%20Government%20of%20India%20in%201962%20with%20a%20model%20involved%20with%20BCG%20vaccination%20and%20TB%20treatment.%20Later%20it%20was%20revitalised%20as%20Revised%20National%20TB%20Control%20Programme%20%28RNTCP%29.

Significant%20steps%20have%20been%20taken%20by%20the%20country%20in%20the%20past%20decade%20which%20include%20a%2024-hour%20free%20helpline%20for%20TB%20patients%20or%20those%20who%20might%20have%20a%20problem%20similar%20to%20it.%20In%20line%20with%20the%20National%20TB%20Elimination%20Program%2C%20a%20toll%20free%20number-%201800-11%u20136666-%20was%20launched%20by%20the%20government.%26nbsp%3B

The%20step%20was%20taken%20to%20ensure%20that%20people%20are%20provided%20with%20support%20for%20patient%20counselling%20and%20treatment%20support%20services.%20Under%20the%20initiative%2C%20the%20callers%20can%20give%20a%20missed%20call%20and%20will%20received%20full%20information%20on%20diagnosis%2C%20treatment%20and%20support%20for%20the%20completion%20of%20treatment.

The%20helpline%20was%20announced%20in%202015%20for%20a%20few%20states%20and%20later%20a%20full%20fledged%20plan%20was%20brought%20into%20existence.%20It%20has%20become%20important%20than%20ever%20that%20the%20disease%20gets%20treated%20properly%20as%20India%27s%20stats%20for%20TB%20provided%20by%20WHO%20have%20been%20high%20with%20193%20in%20100%2C000%20people%20who%20get%20infected.
