Prime Minister Modi had previously claimed that he works for 20 hours a day, and his birthday was also packed with various events.

The Prime Minister returned from Samarkhand late last night after attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit. He started his birthday early in the morning at the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh where he released a pack of cheetahs from Nambia.

The cheetahs were brought from the African country as a special initiative to reintroduce the wild cats in India. The cheetahs were declared extinct in India in 1952 by the Indian Government. The main causes of extinction were extensive hunting and habitat loss.

In the speech following the reintroduction of the cheetahs, PM Modi said, “Normally I meet my mother on my birthday and seek her blessings; today so many mothers of Madhya Pradesh have blessed me”.

The Prime Minister’s political party, the BJP, has planned to celebrate their leader’s birthday as a special occasion. The party has planned various events across the country to mark the day.
