Anrich Nortje is a South African professional cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. He represents the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2022 Tournament.

Anrich Arno Nortje was born in Uitenhage, Cape Province on November 16, 1993. He was named to Eastern Province’s squad for the Africa T20 Cup in 2016. The 29-year-old player was included in the Cape Town Blitz squad for the inaugural Mzansi Super League T20 tournament in October 2018. He couldn’t play the tournament due to an ankle injury.

Nortje was named to South Africa’s Test and Twenty20 International squads against India in August 2019. On September 18, 2019, he made his South African T20I debut against India. Nortje took his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket in January 2020, in the fourth Test against England. Cricket South Africa signed him to a national contract in March 2020, for the 2020–21 season. He was named to South Africa’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in September 2021.

Nortje had joined the Delhi Capitals as a substitute for Chris Woakes in the 2020 Indian Premier League in August 2020. In October 2020, during the 30th match of the 2020 IPL, Nortje bowled at 156.22 km/h (97 mph) to Jos Buttler of the Rajasthan Royals, the fastest delivery in the IPL to date. In the 2019 Indian Premier League auction, he was purchased by the Kolkata Knight Riders. However, due to a shoulder injury, he was ruled out of the tournament.

He was purchased by the Delhi Capitals for Rs. 6.5 crore for the IPL season 2022 he will be playing for the team in the 3rd game starting from April 7 against Lucknow Super Giants. Nortje is the current most successful pacer of the Delhi team.
