Darkseid is a merciless tyrant of Apokolips who has caused
death and destruction by taking over countless worlds in the universe. He possessed
the Anti-Life Equation which allows him to enslave all beings according to his
will.

The character was created by Jack Kirby and appeared for the
first time in the comic Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen #134.
The supervillain possesses many abilities including deception,
mastery of hand-to-hand combat, intimidation, leadership skills, knowledge of
quantum mechanics and a very high level of intellect.

He is not just any mad ruler who conquers other regions for
fun, his aim is to rob the whole universe off the concept of free will.
Darkseid is the father of many sons. Most notably, Kalibak
who became a brutal warrior for his father’s kingdom of Apokolips and Orion who
was traded as a part of a peace deal with Highfather.
The tyrant stepped on Earth with hopes of conquering the
planet and confronting Superman personally. He easily overpowered the superhero
and was successful in defeating and capturing Superman.
However, his capture did not last for long as all of Earth’s
heroes came together to save the planet. With Darkseid distracted by the defender’s
assault Batman succeeded in releasing Superman from captivity.

Following this, the supervillain was pushed through a
Boom-Tube for Cybord which sent Apokolips away from Earth.
The ruler of Apokolips is immortal, possesses superhuman
speed which enabled him to match Zeus’ combat speed, superhuman stamina which
allowed him to fight for seven days straight and superhuman strength with which
he can defeat multiple superhumans simultaneously.

While the God of Evil can be defeated, don’t mistake yourself
into believing that he can be destroyed. Because if he can remain unfazed even
after a combined assault of the Justice League, he can survive anything.
Darkseid will always find a way to return and spread his
rule all over the universe as long as malice and despair exist.
