Rohit
Sharma, Mumbai Indians’ captain, made three changes to his starting lineup
against the Chennai Super Kings. Daniel Sams was introduced into the starting
XI, while MI had two debuts on the night, with Hrithik Shokeen and Riley
Meredith.

After losing
Suryakumar Yadav, who had scored 32 runs in 21 balls, Mumbai Indians were
reeling at 47/4 when Hrithik Shokeen came out to bat. The young player had
great guts and commitment in his anchor role, but he was eventually dismissed
by Dwayne Bravo. Shokeen scored 25 runs from 25 balls, with three boundaries.

The
youngster offered a solid peek of himself in a tough match for Mumbai Indians,
and it appears that Mumbai Indians have uncovered another gem after the likes
of Tilak Varma and Dewald Brevis.

MI
experienced an early collapse, with skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan both
out for ducks, while Brevis could only score four runs. Mumbai were struggling
after Shokeen’s dismissal and had scored 100/5 after 15 overs. The team has not
won a single match this season and another defeat would see them eliminated
from the tournament.

“The
surfaces have changed a bit from what we played in the first game. The teams
have won batting first here in the last 3-4 games, so it is a blessing in
disguise. We have made three changes. Riley Meredith is making his debut for
Mumbai, Hrithik Shokeen is an off-spinner and making his debut, Daniel Sams
comes back,” MI skipper Rohit Sharma said after losing the toss.

Hrithik
Shokeen who was in born 14 August 2000 is an Indian cricketer. He was
picked for India’s squad for the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh
in 2019, following which he made his List A debut for India against Nepal. In
the mega auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League, he was purchased by the
Mumbai Indians in February 2022. He made his Twenty20 debut for the Mumbai
Indians in the 2022 IPL on April 21, 2022.
