Jitendra Mann ‘Gogi’, the man who was killed on Friday inside Delhi’s Rohini court premises, was a convicted criminal and gangster from Delhi. He was recently in the news for demanding 50 million extortion money from a Dubai businessman while he was in Tihar Jail.

According to a Navbharat Times report, Gogi continued to extort and kidnap people for ransom and murder even after getting detained.

Gogi, a notorious criminal, escaped from Delhi police’s custody in Bahadurgarh on the morning of July 30, 2016. He also assaulted several Delhi police officers and stole their weapons while fleeing the site, reported Navbharat Times

As per Navbhrat Times, Gogi was involved in the murder of Haryanvi singer and dancer Harshita Dahiya, who was killed in Panipat in 2017. Later, his name was also associated with the killing of a Tajipur teacher.

Gogi was also believed to be behind the killing of Aam Aadmi Party leader Virendra Mann, who was shot 26 times by the criminals in Delhi, reported Navbharat Times.

Gogi was one of the most wanted gangsters by Delhi and Haryana police and carried a bounty of Rs 4 lakhs. He was arrested by Delhi Police’s Special Cell last year in March.

At least three people, including gangster Gogi, were killed in a shooting incident in Delhi’s Rohini court premises on Friday after two attackers, who were in lawyers’ attire entered the premises opened fire at gangster Jitender Mann ‘Gogi’, who was brought to Rohini court for a hearing.

Delhi Police Special Cell shot dead two attackers in retaliation.

News agency ANI released a video of police’s retaliation.

In video footage of the shootout involving the two attackers, who were from the rival gang, gunshots could be heard and policemen and lawyers seen in a scramble, but the officials said there were no further injuries or deaths.
